Whether you draw by hand or want to create an illustration from your photos, Illustrator allows you to create detailed, professional illustrations, logos, and many other creative images and designs! Adobe Illustrator is a large application and this is your chance to get acquainted with some of the fundamental tools and techniques most useful for graphic artists and photographers. Learn how to vectorize your pencil or ink drawings, convert a photo into editable vectors, create gradients, use layers, and more. Much of what will be learned is applicable in Photoshop and InDesign as well.
Along with the live instruction class meetings, you will receive access to tutorial videos created by the instructor to further develop your skills or refresh your memory for a period of two weeks following the class. Each class also has a matching Exercise Learning Demonstration File in Adobe Illustrator, so you can follow along and learn by doing. Start with the basics and work your way up to creating beautiful illustrations and graphic design projects!
This class is appropriate for students 16 years and older.
Students will need to have the following in order to participate in this class:
- Laptop or Desktop Computer
- Access to Zoom Video platform
- Licensed, downloaded working copy of Adobe Illustrator CC installed on your computer.
You can easily take the class without a stylus pen however if it's available, it can be helpful. Recommended but not required: Wacom drawing style pen.
Adobe Illustrator subscriptions must be purchased and installed separately, independent of this class. Class fee does not include an Adobe software subscription. Software demonstrated in this class is available from Adobe for students for $20.99 a month for the single application or it is available as part of the entire Creative Cloud bundle for $52.99.
